Testimonials & case studies

Customer testimonial videos that sound like real people.

Customer testimonial and case study video production for Michigan businesses since 2005.

The problem

Your happiest customer is your best salesperson. Let them talk.

Your prospects don’t fully believe you. That’s not an insult. It’s just how B2B buying works. Every vendor says they’re responsive. Every website promises partnership. Your prospect has heard it all before. What they haven’t heard is one of their peers explaining what it was actually like to work with you.

That’s the job a testimonial video does. It moves the claim out of your mouth and into your customer’s. We’ve been making customer testimonial videos and case study videos for Michigan companies since 2005, for clients like FANUC, KUKA, and College Park. The pattern holds every time. Prospects trust customers more than they trust marketing.

The craft

The interview is the whole game.

Here’s what most crews get wrong. They see a stiff subject and assume a stiff person. It’s not the person. It’s the situation. Lights, a lens, a stranger with a list of questions. Almost anyone goes rigid in that setup, and no amount of “just relax” fixes it. So we don’t fix the person. We change the situation.

Our interviews feel like conversations because that’s what they are. We do the homework before we arrive. We don’t hand your customer a script, because a testimonial works on feel, and a script kills the feel first. We start with easy ground, listen, and follow the story where it has life. Your customer ends up sounding like themselves, which is the only version a prospect will believe.

The experience

Easy for you. Easier for your customer.

You’re asking a customer for a favor, so the experience has to reflect well on you. We show up with a crew of two or three. We set up fast, stay out of the way, and get what we need without eating their day. Most customer interviews take about an hour of their time. They walk away thinking better of you, not worse. That matters as much as the footage does.

On your side, the process is built for a marketing manager with a full plate. We handle the scheduling, the pre-interview prep, and the location scouting at your customer’s site. After the shoot you receive the full interview transcripts, so you know the exact content the editor is working with. No more relying on a fuzzy memory of a good line from three weeks ago. The transcripts also outlive the video. Your team can pull quotes for the case study, the website, or a sales deck without digging through an hour of footage to find them.

The deliverables

What you get, and what it does.

A testimonial video documents the problem, the work, and the result, told by the people who lived it. It answers the question every prospect eventually asks, which is who else have you done this for. When your sales cycle involves several stakeholders and a skeptical procurement team, your champion has something to forward internally that makes the case when you're not in the room.

What's included in a customer testimonial video

  • The edited video. Usually two to three minutes.
  • The full interview transcripts. Every interview, transcribed in full.

Shorter cutdowns are a recommended optional add-on. These are trimmed versions of the main video sized for LinkedIn, email, and sales follow-ups, and if you tell us up front we schedule them into post-production.

Frequently asked

Customer testimonial video production FAQs

How do you decide which customer and which story to tell?

We start with the job the film has to do. Who needs to see it, what they should feel, and what they should do next. That points us to the right customer: someone who faced the same problem your prospects face now, and who genuinely cared about solving it. A lukewarm fan with a big logo makes a weak film. A customer with a real stake in the outcome makes a film that moves deals. We'd rather have the second one every time.

How do you get our customers to agree to be on camera?

Usually you just ask, and they say yes. Happy customers like talking about good decisions they've made. We make it easy from there. We handle scheduling, come to their location, and keep the ask to about an hour. We can also give you a short outreach template that explains what to expect. Customers who know it'll be a conversation rather than a production say yes far more often.

What if our customer isn't a good speaker or freezes up on camera?

A stiff subject isn't a stiff person. It's a normal person in a strange situation, and our job is to change the situation. We don't ask them to memorize anything or perform. We tell them up front that the edit does the heavy lifting, so nothing has to come out perfect. Then we just talk. In twenty years we've turned a lot of "I'm terrible on camera" people into the best moment in the film.

Do we need to write a script or prep questions?

No, and we'd push back if you tried. Scripted testimonials sound scripted, and prospects can spot it instantly. A testimonial works because of how it feels, and a script is the fastest way to kill the feeling. We build the interview around the story you need told: the problem, the work, the result. If there are specific points you need on the record, tell us and we'll get there naturally.

How long does a testimonial video project take?

Most projects run four to six weeks from kickoff to final delivery. That covers a week or two to coordinate schedules with your customer, a shoot day at their location, then editing with a paper-edit review step so you see the structure before the cut. If you have a trade show or campaign deadline, tell us up front and we'll build the schedule around it.

Can you film at our customer's location, even out of state?

Yes, and we prefer it. Seeing the plant floor or the office where the work actually happened does something a studio never can. It proves the story is real without anyone having to say so. We're based in Metro Detroit and shoot across Michigan regularly. We travel beyond it when the story does.

What does a testimonial video cost?

We post our pricing, which is rarer in this industry than it should be. Filming and editing starts at $6,500. If you need assistance with the full story development and to conduct the interviews, we can provide a custom quote. Testimonial projects vary with the number of interview locations, shoot days, and deliverables. Tell us what you're working with and we'll give you a real number, not a range designed to start a negotiation.

Have a customer with a story worth telling?

Tell us about the project. We’ll come back with a plan, a timeline, and a number, usually within a business day.
